Disconnected from the Earth
Ongoing research suggests that our loss of connection to the Earth's flow of surface energy as a result of modern living practices is a significant factor in the widespread development of immune-system issues and inflammation-related conditions such as:
- food allergies
- eczema
- hay fever
- asthma
- lupus
- multiple sclerosis
- rheumatoid arthritis
- cardiovascular disease
- cancer
- dementia
- Alzheimer's
These are some of the benefits that researchers and users of Earthing have reported:
- decreased inflammation and improvement in inflammation-related conditions
- improved sleep
- reduced pain
- increased energy
- improved blood pressure and blood flow
- accelerated healing and recovery
- improved mental clarity
- decreased anxiety, stress and depression
- weight loss
When a sensitive person is blocked from the Earth's energy through shoes, they may unconsciously turn to heavier foods. Heavier foods slow down digestion, can make us feel more "in our body," and in a sense "hold" us to the ground with extra weight. However, the sense of grounding we seek is actually energetic in nature. Nutrient-dense, high-vibration foods such as raw, organic fruits and vegetables can give us the true grounding we seek. But we also need to correct the Earth-disconnection through Earthing. With a consistent Earthing practice, the need to eat extra calories and heavy foods is eliminated -- which facilitates weight loss.
The Umbrella Effect
It is our body's natural state of being to conduct the Earth's electrical surface charge through our feet. When that flow of free electrons from the Earth to our bodies is blocked by nonconductive materials - namely shoes with insulated soles - our health is impaired. But the benefits of directly connecting with the Earth are also due to the ability of Earthing to shield us from electropollution in what is called the "umbrella effect."
When we ground ourselves to the Earth through direct contact with our feet, the sea of electropollution created by the man-made electrical power grid is pushed up and away from our bodies. Trees, animals and shoeless humans all reside under this protective umbrella.
Earthing Practice
The absolute best way to practice Earthing is with your bare feet on the ground near a water source, especially if your feet are making contact with wet ground. Water is highly conductive of the Earth's energy to our bodies. And moving water produces negative ions, which are associated with high energy and high mood.
The second best way to practice Earthing is walking barefoot on wet grass. The third best is walking barefoot on dry ground. If the weather is not warm, you can sit with your feet on the ground and cover your feet with a blanket. Although Earthing works best with bare feet on the ground, I have found wearing natural fiber socks such as cotton or wool does allow some energy transfer. If it's cold, shoes with leather soles will work for Earthing. You can also put your bare hands on the Earth, or on a tree.
Accessibility
The beauty of grounding through Earthing as an energy healing tool is the accessibility. All you have to do is walk outside and take off your shoes to receive the benefits!
